Fillet Or Bologna: Kansas
Who’s fillet and who’s bologna at Kansas?
Jimmie Johnson (Fillet) – Was there any doubt in your mind. Johnson is the defending race champion and the 48 car is on top of their game. Johnson also sports the leagues highest driver rating at Kansas(123.1) , he’s led the most laps (231), and he drives in the top 15 nearly 92% of the time here (stats based on last 4 races).
Greg Biffle (Bologna) – When most people think about Biffle at Kansas they automatically remember his race win. His win was a bunch of Bologna. NASCAR shortened that race unexpectedly and Biffle didn’t even cross the finish line first that day. You also can’t disregard how bad the Roush-Fenway cars have been this year. There’s no reason to invest your fantasy pick here because there are plenty more prime picks available.
Mark Martin (Fillet) – Martin has a career win at Kansas but lets remember everything has changed since then. The important thing is how strong Martin has been on similar tracks this season. Martin won at both Michigan and Chicago this year and he certainly will be a front runner again at Kansas.
Kyle Busch (Bologna) – Kyle Busch has struggled all year long at the intermediate tracks. Until this team proves themselves at an intermediate track I would stay away from them. Also don’t be fooled if they qualify good. The race pattern for this team is that they lose the handle of the car half way through a run and then they fall back.
Jeff Gordon (Fillet) – Gordon won the first two races at Kansas but lets once again remember things have changed since then. Those are old facts that you really need to push to the side. In fantasy racing its important to stay current. The current situation for the Dupont team is that they are very strong on the intermediate tracks this year.
Ryan Newman (Bologna) – In Newman’s first three races at Kansas he recorded finishes of 2nd, 2nd, and 1st. Once again this is old data. Chuck it. This team has shown really no promise in my eyes at intermediate tracks this year. Even if Newman wins the pole if you pick him your full of bologna.
