Darlington Bojangles Southern 500: Drivers who you should avoid
AJ Allmendinger – Out of all the drivers who I write about on a weekly basis AJ Allmendinger has the worst average finish at Darlington. His best finish is 17th and his average finish is 27.4. In his five races his average running position is 28th and his driver rating is 53.5. (Yahoo! B Driver)
Paul Menard – Darlington has been a tough track for Menard. His best finished is 15th and his average finish is 26.8. There’s a lot troubling statistics tied to Menard this week. In his five races he’s only ran in the top fifteen for 4.5% percent of the laps run. That’s enough to make me nervous. His 27.8 average running position and 53.5 driver rating are enough to scare me away. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Bobby Labonte -Since 2005 Labonte hasn’t finished better than 17th at Darlington. The postiive part of this fact is that in six of the last seven races he finished between 17th and 22nd. That’s pretty consistent in my book. Labonte won the 2000 Southern 500. (Yahoo! C Driver)
David Ragan – Just like I warn you every week look for Ragan to finish just ahead of the start and parkers. His average finish is 21st but he has had a measure of success on “The Lady In Black”. He finished 5th in 2008 and 14th in 2010. Last year Ragan finished 21st and had a 19th place average running position. (Yahoo! C Driver)
Danica Patrick – If you want to get out of sync with your competition Patrick is the driver you’re looking for. I don’t know anybody who would want to pick her. If you thought her short Daytona performance was ugly you haven’t seen anything yet. Darlington is traditionally tough on rookies, I don’t know what Stewart Haas Racing was thinking when they put this race on her schedule. (Yahoo! C Driver)
