Charlotte Coca Cola 600: Drivers To Avoid
Paul Menard – Paul Menard finished 8th in the 2010 Coca Cola 600. That marked his first top fifteen finish at Charlotte since 2006 (pre rookie year). Menard’s track history at Charlotte is terrible. In his ten races he’s only finished in the top 20 in three of them. In the last three high-speed intermediate track races Menard has finished 19th (Auto Club), 18th (Texas) and 18th (Kansas). I think a high teens finish is predictable. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Juan Pablo Montoya – Out of all the drivers who I rank on a weekly basis Juan Pablo Montoya has the worst average finish at Charlotte (24.7). For the first two-thirds of his career he was awful here. In the last third he’s had some good finishes. In the 2009 Coca Cola 600 Montoya finished 8th and in the last three Charlotte races he’s finished 11th, 12th and 14th. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Regan Smith – Last fall Regan Smith had his worst finish at Charlotte. In that race he finished 25th. That’s really not that bad of a number considering the tier of driver he’s in. This shows that he knows how to take care of his equipment which is vital in this race. In the Coca Cola 600 last year he finished 8th. Based on how that race ended almost everyone needs an asterisk next to their finish position. Check out his Yahoo! chart. He certainly wasn’t that good. I predict he’ll finish around 20th. If the attrition is high he could finish better. (Yahoo! B Driver)
