Yahoo C List Fantasy Racing Preview – Dover AAA 400
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Earlier this year at Dover Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was the highest finishing Roush Fenway Ford. He finished 13th but it’s important to note his 18th place average running position and 20th best driver rating. Last fall Stenhouse Jr. made his first start at this venue and finished 12th. From an allocation standpoint if you’re sitting on Stenhouse Jr. starts this is a very good week to pick him as your Yahoo C List driver.

AJ Allmendinger – At Dover AJ Allmendinger will once again be returning behind the wheel of the 47 car. Dover has recently been a great track for him. Arguably the best race of his career was here in fall 2010 when he started 2nd and led 143 laps in the 43 car. In the Dover races he’s participated in since fall 2009 minus an engine failure in spring 2011 he has a 11.8 average start, 11.6 average running position and a 10.8 average finish. I know that stats line doesn’t sound bad to me. In AJ Allmendinger’s last four races in the 47 car he has a 15th place average finish.

David Ragan – David Ragan doesn’t have any fantasy potential at Dover. In the last nine races at the Monster Mile he’s finished 21st or worse every race. One positive attribute about him is that at least he’s consistent when he does it. Only once in that stretch of races has he finished worse than 28th.
Casey Mears – Casey Mears had one of his better performances of the season at Dover earlier this year. He started in 17th, had a 17th place average running position and finished 16th. It was a very solid afternoon for him and at some points in the race he ran in the low teens. What’s notable about his 16th place finish is that it’s his only result better than 22nd this decade.
Ryan Truex – At Dover Ryan Truex Jr. will be driving the 51 car. This is his home track and he’s had some good performances here in the Nationwide Series. In the lower series at the Monster Mile in 2012 he had results of 2nd and 14th. Truex Jr. has two starts in the Sprint Cup series this season in the 51 car and he’s had results of 42nd and 35th. I wouldn’t recommend him in the Dover AAA 400.
Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick has two Dover races under her belt and has results of 24th and 28th. It’s important to note that Dover is a high attrition track and she was worse then her results indicate. For example in her 28th place result last June she finished 7 laps down! In her 24th place effort this year she had a 33rd place average running position and earned a near start and parker 44.0 driver rating.
