Yahoo Fantasy Racing C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Charlotte
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. should be the clear Yahoo C List fantasy pick for the Charlotte Bank of America 500. Earlier this season he benefited from the high attrition rate of the race and finished 14th. Last fall when he drove a 4th Roush car he had an engine failure. In the 2011 Coca Cola 600 he subbed for Trevor Bayne and earned a 11th place finish. Recently on 1.5 mile tracks he’s shown improvement. At Atlanta he won the pole and at Chicagoland he finished 8th. At Kansas he had trouble in the race and finished 30th.

Kyle Larson – At Charlotte Kyle Larson will be making his Sprint Cup debut in the 51 car. Outside of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. I think he’s the clear next best fantasy option for the Bank of America 500. Also he has sleeper potential. At Kansas Justin Allgaier drove the 51 and was having a decent race running in the high-teens until he wrecked. Kyle Larson is better than him so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Larson net a top fifteen. A realistic finish though would likely be around 20th.

Casey Mears – Casey Mears one and only Sprint Cup win was at Charlotte in 2007 Coca Cola 600. That result deserves an asterisk mark. The rest of the top four drivers were JJ Yeley, Kyle Petty and Reed Sorenson. Since then he’s only finished in the top ten once and the rest of his results are all 21st or worse. Over the last six Charlotte races his average finish is 26.3. This season on 1.5 mile tracks when he’s had a problem free race he’s typically finished around the mid twenties.
David Ragan – David Ragan has had some success at Charlotte during his tenure with Roush Racing but with Front Row Motorsports his results haven’t been good. In two of his three races for this employer he’s missed a significant amount of laps. Those results should be somewhat disregarded. This spring he finished in 25th, had a 32nd place average running position and earned the 35th best driver rating. On similar tracks this season he’s typically had a result in the mid twenties when he has a problem free race.
Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick shouldn’t be trusted at Charlotte. She has two races under her belt and has struggled in both events. Between her two starts she has a 26th place average running position, 29.5 average finish and a 49.1 driver rating. At Charlotte earlier this season she finished in 29th and was involved in an accident with Brad Keselowski with 82 laps to go. Last fall in her other start she struggled and finished 5 laps down in 30th.
