Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Last year at Homestead Ricky Stenhouse Jr. drove the 6 car. It was a fairly short race for him. On lap 154 he had a tire go down and he got into the wall hard. At the time of the incident he was running in the mid twenties. When it comes to making a Yahoo C List fantasy pick I think Ricky Stenhouse Jr. should be your default pick if you have allocations remaining. In some recent races on high-speed intermediate tracks he’s shown improvement. That should carry over on Sunday for the Homestead-Miami Ford EcoBoost 400.

AJ Allmendinger – AJ Allmendinger will finally be taking over the #47 car on a full-time basis at Homestead. If you don’t have Ricky Stenhouse Jr. starts remaining AJ Allmendinger should be your go to guy. In his last three races on 1.5 mile tracks he’s had results of 20th, 21st and 14th. Homestead has been a great track for Allmendinger. His 10.3 average finish is by far the best among Yahoo C List drivers.

Trevor Bayne – Trevor Bayne is here to save the day if you’ve used up all your Ricky Stenhouse Jr. or AJ Allmendinger starts and you don’t want to touch Elliott Sadler. At Texas this team didn’t perform well and he finished 29th. For the season on 1.5 mile tracks he has a 21.5 average finish and a 24.0 average running position. Bayne has been in two races at Homestead. He’s qualified 20th twice and has had results of 23rd and 25th.
Elliott Sadler – Elliott Sadler last raced at Homestead in 2010. In that event he started in 12th and finished 28th. From a career standpoint Sadler hasn’t had a lot of success here. He’s only finished in the top ten once and over his last eight races he’s finished 21st or worse. There is hope though when it comes to picking him. Last season his MWR teammates performed very well here. Clint Bowyer finished 2nd and Martin Truex Jr. had a 2nd place PROS Rankings.
Danica Patrick -Danica Patrick will be making her first start at Homestead this weekend. I think she might be able to surprise people and perform better than she has all season long. I say that for two reasons. I think Homestead is a rather easy track to drive. It’s perfectly symmetrical so creating a viable setup shouldn’t be to difficult. Another reason why I think she might perform well is because it would make a good story line for people in the off-season. I’ve watched NASCAR for a long time and story lines typically emerge such as this towards the end of the season more often than not.
Casey Mears – There’s no reason to consider Casey Mears as your Yahoo C List pick for Homestead. His results have been dreadful here. His last three results are 29th, 26th and 33rd. This season on 1.5 mile tracks he has a 27.2 average finish, 30.1 average running position and the 33rd best driver rating.
