David Gilliland – Said his car is more in the track this session. Later he said, “Front end is better. I just need more rear grip.” During a run with 10 minutes left he said his car was “three handfuls”.

Kevin Harvick – Early in practice he said his car won’t turn but he’s better on exit. Had good lap times. With ten minutes left in practice he said, “Touch too tight in the middle of the corner.” At the end of practice his crew chief said he was really good.

Jimmie Johnson – Had good speed over the duration of a run. Started practice with a 17 lap run. “I was able to get some drive off but over time I think I’ll start beating up the rears.”

Joey Logano – Had good long run speed.
