Why Ryan Newman will/won’t win the championship
Why Ryan Newman Will Win The Championship
Ryan Newman will win the championship because he’s willing to do whatever it takes. If you don’t believe me just ask Kyle Larson. He’s the underdog and he knows it. He has nothing to lose on Sunday and he likely needs to run an unconventional race to win the championship.
Another factor you have to like about Ryan Newman is that he’s done a good job avoiding trouble on the track this season. Weird things happen in NASCAR and somehow he could find himself in position to take home the trophy.
This season NASCAR said wins are more important than ever. It would be very ironic if Newman wins the championship with that proclamation out there. Austin Dillon won the championship being winless so it’s not out of the realm of possibility to think RCR can’t win another championship winless. I’ll assure you I think this winless championship intangible is very real.
Why Ryan Newman Won’t Win The Championship
Ryan Newman won’t win the championship because his strength this season has been consistency, and not speed. He’s made it this far into the playoffs being the “Tortoise”, but this is a race that will be won by the “Hare”. The marathon is over and it’s time for the sprint.
Ryan Newman won’t win the championship because he hasn’t been as strong as some of the competitors at 1.5 mile tracks this season. At tracks of this length in 2014 he’s only finished in the top five once and in the top ten 50% percent of the time.
Ryan Newman won’t win the championship because he’s the lone Chaser who didn’t test at Homestead. All of his competitors did.
