Las Vegas Race Notes
The front row was comprised of both Penske cars. Logano was the pole winner and he selected the outside groove. He led the first 19 laps.
On the first lap Keselowski slid off turn 4 and fell from 2nd to 7th.
Greg Biffle struggled early and had pre-race comments saying he didn’t know what his car would do from one end of the track to the other.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ran well early.
The first caution came out on lap 17 for fluid on the track from Josh Wise
Running order on lap 18 during the first caution: 22,48,15,2,17,3,31,1,78
During the first round of pit stops under green Brad Keselowski choose not to pit and as a result he got the lead.
Running order on lap 41: 22,2,48,15,31,78,24,55,4,3 … 88,17,27,5,1,42,99,20,18,41 … 11,21,47,13,38,66,9,43,7,10,34 … Biffle was in 36th and Tony Stewart was in 38th.
Tony Stewart’s car was completely “off” and if he wasn’t saved by the first two cautions he would be two laps down in just 46 laps.
On lap 47 Jimmie Johnson got the lead when he took two tires. Logano took four tires and fell back to 12th. Clint Bowyer also took four and it dropped him to the teens.

Martin Truex Jr.’s car got loose and he was slowly falling through the field around lap 73.
Kyle Busch passed Jimmie Johnson for the lead on lap 77.
Tony Stewart went a lap down around lap 80.
Jimmie Johnson’s car fell off a little bit around lap 81 with Earnhardt Jr. passing him moving him back to 3rd. The #48 car was a little too loose for his liking.
Kyle Busch liked his car and said it was awesome on lap 88.
Greg Biffle got lapped on lap 90.
