Kevin Harvick passed both Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon around lap 34.
Notable Moment: On lap 37 Danica Patrick came to pit road for an unscheduled pit stop. She had a tire coming apart. It dropped her two laps down to 43rd.
Notable Moment: Clint Bowyer short pitted around lap 40 and it wasn’t too his benefit. It dropped him a lap down and shortly after that a caution came out.
On lap 43 Josh Wise got into the wall and it brought out a caution.
During the first round of pit stops following the debris caution Jeff Gordon lost six positions.
Kasey Kahne had a really strong car 50 laps into the race. He was in 3rd at the time.

Denny Hamlin started in 20th and was running in 12th on lap 52.
