NASCAR Power Index – Kansas
1. Kevin Harvick (LW: 1) – What a disaster of a race for Harvick, finishing eighth. He better get his act together heading to Kansas.
2. Jimmie Johnson (LW: 2) – His 8.67 average finish over the last six races is a series best. His second-place finish at Talladega marked his fourth straight top-three.
3. Martin Truex Jr (LW: 4) – What more can you say about the resurgence of Truex? He avoided the wrecks of Talladega, and came home fifth.

4. Joey Logano (LW: 3) – A spinning Trevor Bayne led to “The Big One” on Lap 47. Logano couldn’t find his way back onto the lead lap after getting caught up in the mess, resulting in a 33rd-place finish.
5. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (LW: 10) – Junior ran up front pretty much all day, not the easiest thing to do at a restrictor-plate track. In the victory, he led a race-high 67 laps.
6. Jeff Gordon (LW: 5) – Jeff Gordon incurred another late-race penalty, speeding on pit road. However, unlike the last one, where he recovered to ninth place, Gordon crossed the finish line 31st on this day.
7. Matt Kenseth (LW: 6) – Kenseth just could not make a move forward in the closing laps, leading to a 25th-place result.
8. Brad Keselowski (LW: 7) – Brad did not suffer any significant on-track damage to his car. But when traffic was moving pretty much single-file in the late stages of the race, he could not find his way back into the top 20.
9. Kurt Busch (LW: 8) – Finding himself in 30th with twenty laps to go, Busch found some speed in the closing laps, ending up 12th.
10. Ryan Newman (LW: 11) – Newman found the right line when it mattered most after running near the back for most of the race, flying home to a seventh-place finishing position.
11. Denny Hamlin (LW: 12) – Running a consistent race, Denny stayed out of trouble and finished ninth.
12. Kasey Kahne (LW: 9) – Like Logano, Kahne was also victimized by the Lap 47 incident, leaving him outside the top 30.
13. Jamie McMurray (LW: 13) – An eleventh-place finish for McMurray, who jumps to seventh in the points standings.
14. Clint Bowyer (LW: 14) – Things can change in a heartbeat at Talladega. Bowyer knew that, and damage on the last lap sealed his fate (30th).
15. Carl Edwards (LW: 15) – A last-lap spin probably cost Edwards a top-10 finish or better.
