Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Kentucky
Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney will be returning to action at Kentucky in the #21 Wood Brothers Ford. This year he’s had an engine failure in every other race and if that trend continues he’s due for another on Saturday night. I’m assuming he can’t possibly have another engine problem but it’s important to note the risk. This season he’s been in three races at 1.5 mile tracks and in the last two he’s been sidelined early with an engine failure. In his one incident free race at a 1.5 mile track he finished 19th. Blaney’s last race was at Michigan and at that venue he finished 24th.
David Ragan – In the first Kentucky race when he drove for Roush Fenway Racing he started in 8th and finished 8th. Outside of their equipment he’s had very poor performances and has results of 26th, 29th and 31st. This season at 1.5 mile tracks in the #55 car he’s been a disappointment. He wasn’t competitive at Kansas and finished 33rd and at Charlotte his engine couldn’t go the distance and he finished 41st.
Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick didn’t have a bad race last year at Kentucky by her standards. She started in 10th, had a 16th place average running position, earned the 18th best driver rating and finished 21st. I would estimate that for about 80 percent of the race she ran between 15th and 22nd. In her first start in Kentucky she was far from competitive. She started in 23rd, had a 26th place average running position and finished 29th. This season at 1.5 mile tracks she’s finished between 16th and 27th every race. Also in the five races at tracks of this length she has a 21.6 average finish, a 22.6 average running position and has run 9% percent of the laps in the top fifteen.
Justin Allgaier -In NASCAR’s top series Justin Allgaier has one start under his belt. Last summer he started 28th, earned the 28th best driver rating, had a 26th place average running position and finished 24th. In 2013 in the lower series at Kentucky he had results of 13th and 17th. This season 1.5 mile tracks haven’t been an area of strength for Allgaier. He finished 20th at Atlanta but in the last four races at tracks of this length he has a 35.8 average finish and a 30.5 average running position.
