Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Aric Almirola – He was under the weather so Matt Crafton drove his car for most of practice. Early in the session the #43 was loose. At the end of practice Almirola got into the #43 to practice so he would be eligible to qualify his car.

Jimmie Johnson – At the start of practice he said his car was really loose. 20 minutes into practice Chad Knaus liked his lap times. Later Knaus said he has good speed on entry but is slow coming off the corners. Worked on qualifying trim for the final hour. At the end of practice they weren’t happy with the 48 and ended the session early.
Justin Allgaier – At the start of practice he was loose for at least his first three runs. During a later run he said changes tightened up his car and his stability was better.
Clint Bowyer – He said he was really loose in the first five minutes. During a later run he was still loose. 40 minutes into practice he said some changes improved his car. 70 minutes into practice he wanted rear grip and said he’s a little too tight.
Sam Hornish Jr. – Early in practice he said the rear of his car wants to kick out and it’s loose. His team is working to stabilize his car in the corners.
