Kyle Busch started on the pole and choose the inside lane. He led the first 28 laps.

Jamie McMurray had a good car and he moved up in the running order early. He ran the high-line and got tremendous runs down the straightaway.

On lap 29 Jeff Gordon took the lead from Kyle Busch. Jamie McMurray got around Busch shortly afterwards.

On lap 40 Jamie McMurray passed Jeff Gordon for the lead by running the high-line.

Kevin Harvick had a fast car and liked it during his first pit stop on lap 43.

Notable Moment: On lap 46 while coming to pit road Kurt Busch spun. He was penalized for speeding on entry.

On lap 67 the first caution came out for debris. The caution was a big break for Aric Almirola because he was about to get lapped. At that time Kurt Busch, Allmendinger and Biffle were down a lap. Tony Stewart got the free pass at the time.

Notable Moment: During the first caution Kevin Harvick made an extra pit stop for a loose wheel. Kasey Kahne was caught speeding which put him back to 20th.

On lap 74 Kyle Larson was in 2nd. He started last in a backup car.

Notable Moment: On lap 76 Jamie McMurray was running in the top 5 but he got into the wall. He fell back a few positions as a result.

Notable Moment: Around lap 100 the second caution came out for debris. At that time Ryan Newman pitted early because of a flat tire which dropped him back a few positions.
