New Hampshire Sylvania 300 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Aric Almirola – Aric Almirola has been able to sneak in some good results at New Hampshire over the last couple of races. Over the last five races he has two top six results and a 14.0 average finish. In June he didn’t have a great car but he was able to come home with a 15th place finish. In the last third of the race he used some pit strategy and drove aggressively to get positions. Also in the race it should be noted he had a 21st place average running position and earned the 19th best driver rating. Last fall he finished 6th but I wouldn’t say he was that good. Performance wise he was probably about 11th place good. In July 2014 he started in the rear of the field in a backup car. Track position at “The Magic Mile” is huge so that greatly increased his level of difficulty. He was able to get around the “slow cars” with no problem but he didn’t get much closer to the front than 20th on his own merit. When the checkered flag waved he finished 23rd, had a 23rd place average running position and earned the 25th best driver rating. In September 2013 he finished 21st, had a 20th place average running position and earned the 22nd best driver rating. In July 2013 he finished 5th but that’s one of those results that deserve an asterisk mark. His good finish was due to pit strategy. The number you need know about him from that race is “17″. He started 17th, had a 17th place average running position and earned the 17th best driver rating. (Yahoo B Driver)

Paul Menard – New Hampshire hasn’t been one of Paul Menard’s better tracks. In 17 races he’s never finished in the top ten and it’s home to his worst top fifteen finish percentage (12%), and its tied for his worst top twenty finish percentage (35%). This July he finished 25th but it should be noted he was better than his result. On lap 197 while he was running in 11th he had a significant tire rub which forced him to come to pit road. As he approached pit road he spun which brought out the caution. Last fall he was on pace to get his first top ten but his race wasn’t incident free. With 31 laps to go he was battling Matt Kenseth for 6th but they both spun. That dropped him back to the mid-twenties with only 30 laps remaining. When the checkered flag waved he finished 15th. In July 2014 he finished 19th but he performed a little better than his result. He started in 16th, had a 15th place average running position and ran 72.8% percent of the laps in the top fifteen.
