Kansas Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report
Every race a number of drivers walk away with misleading finishes. The spring 2015 Kansas race was no exception. Some drivers had problems in the race and the final caution produced quite a few asterisk mark results.
Denny Hamlin had a good car earlier this year at Kansas. He was likely around 10th place good but shortly after a restart he got into the wall. That led to him coming down pit road for an unexpected stop only to have a flat tire about 10 laps later which led to him pounding the wall. When the checkered flag waved he finished 41st.
Martin Truex Jr. had a great car earlier this year at Kansas and was a lock to finish in the top two if the final caution didn’t come out. That yellow put him in a tough situation and his crew chief made the wrong call which led to his 9th place finish.
Tony Stewart finished 39th at Kansas earlier this year. He didn’t have a good car but he wasn’t that bad. Stewart may have been around 20th place good but he wrecked.
Paul Menard was vying for a top five finish this spring at Kansas but during the final round of pit stops he was penalized for having an uncontrolled tire. That late penalty with no time to bounce back led to his 18th place finish.
