Talladega CampingWorld 500 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
AJ Allmendinger – In Allmendinger’s last four Talladega races he has a 9.8 average starting position and a 15.0 average finish. This spring he didn’t have a great race. He ran towards the back for much of the event until about the final 30 laps where he ran around the low twenties. At the end it looked like he would finish 23rd but he benefited from the last lap carnage and as a result he finished 17th. Last fall Allmendinger started in 2nd but by lap 20 he raced his way back into the thirties. From that point on he remained near the back of the pack. When the Green-White-Checker came out he was running around 30th but over the closing laps he rallied up to a 23rd place finish. In spring 2014 he had his Talladega only top ten finish and came home with a 5th place result. Also in the race he earned the 8th best driver rating and ran 50.5% percent of the laps inside the top fifteen. In 2013 he missed both races. In spring 2012 in the #22 he finished 15th. This year at Daytona he has results of 20th and 21st. (Yahoo B Driver)

Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson has had a tough season and Talladega hasn’t been the friendliest track to him. Each time he’s raced here he’s finished worse. The good news is that it will be hard for him to finish worse than he did this spring. In May Larson started 13th and finished 42nd. The reason for his poor result can be attributed to the “Trevor Bayne Big One”. He didn’t show much in the race and performance wise based on the portion he completed he might’ve been about 20th place good. Last fall at Talladega he had the game changing moment of the race when he spun by himself exiting pit road with 14 laps remaining. Fortunately he didn’t get any damage from when it happened. In the event Kyle Larson ran pretty well and earned the 6th best driver rating and had a 15th place average running position. When the checkered flag waved he finished 17th. In May 2014 Kyle Larson made his first Sprint Cup start at Talladega. In the race he performed well. He started in 29th, had a 16th place average running position, finished 9th and earned the 6th best driver rating. Over the final 50 laps he was very strong and in that portion of the race I would estimate his average running position was around 5th. Also late in the race over the closing laps he was running in 4th but got shuffled back to 9th. This season at Daytona he has results of 39th and 42nd. (Yahoo B Driver)
