Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Homestead
Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney will be returning to competition at Homestead and will be driving the #21. He has potential to come home with a good finish but his volatility cannot be denied. This year he’s been in six races at 1.5 mile tracks and in three of them he finished 42nd or worse. Texas is the most recent 1.5 mile track visited and at that venue he got into the wall and finished dead last. In the next two most recent 1.5 mile track races he finished 7th (Kansas) and 14th (Charlotte).

Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick might be able to sneak in a high teen result for you. The tracks that are the most similar to Homestead from a tire wear perspective are Chicagoland, Texas and Atlanta. At those venues this year she finished 16th, 16th, 16th and 26th. At Homestead Patrick has been a consistent performer. She’s raced here twice and walked away with results of 18th and 20th. Last year she had her best Homestead result and finished 18th. Also in the race it should be noted she started 32nd, had a 21st place average running position and earned the 20th best driver rating. In 2013 she started 24th, had a 24th place average running position, earned the 23rd best driver rating and finished 20th. From a performance standpoint she finished right where she should’ve. Also it should be noted her race wasn’t incident free. During green flag pit stops on lap 68 while she was running in the mid 20′s she got busted speeding on pit road and that dropped her back to the high thirties.
David Ragan – The #55 team will be shutting down after Homestead so I think they’ll probably put in a little extra effort this weekend. In the Chase at 1.5 mile tracks minus Charlotte where he had an engine failure he has a 21.0 average finish and a 22.7 average running position. Chicagoland is likely the most similar track visited over this stretch and at that venue he finished 15th. Homestead hasn’t been one of David Ragan’s better tracks. He finished 10th in his first race but since then his best finish is 20th and his average finish is 29.4. In the last three Homestead races he’s finished 29th, 30th and 31st.
Ty Dillon – Ty Dillon will be driving the #33 RCR prepared Chevy at Homestead. This year he’s been in two races at high-speed intermediate tracks in NASCAR’s top series. He finished 14th at Michigan and 26th at Kansas. Last year in the Xfinity Series at Homestead Dillon finished 7th. On Sunday look for the best scenario for him to be a result in the mid-teens.
Justin Allgaier – Sunday will be Justin Allgaier’s final race in the #51. Next year he’s moving back to the Nationwide Series to drive for Junior Motor Sports. Since he wants to be in a competitive car it will be a good move for him. This year the #51 team has really struggled at 1.5 mile tracks. A good day for them is a finish in the low twenties and a typical day is a finish around the upper 20’s. In the Chase at tracks of this length minus Charlotte he had a 25.7 average finish and a 27.0 average running position. Last year Justin Allgaier made his first and only start at Homestead. In the race he started 14th, finished 15th and had a 19th place average running position.
