Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Atlanta
Every week in NASCAR there’s drivers who have problems in the race that lead to asterisk mark results. Understanding misleading finishes and knowing how good drivers truly were can help give you the edge on your competition. Many fantasy racers just looked at results and assume that’s how good drivers were. This post explains who had a misleading result last year at Atlanta, and how good they truly were.
Denny Hamlin – Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin had a misleading result last year at Atlanta. He ran extremely well and had top five potential but his afternoon wasn’t incident free. With 70 laps to go while he was running in 8th he got loose and spun which caused a multi-car accident. When the checkered flag waved he finished 38th. When Denny Hamlin avoids problems at Atlanta he finishes very well. In his last two incident free Atlanta races he’s finished 1st and 3rd.
Kasey Kahne – Kasey Kahne is a strong competitor at Atlanta. In 2015 he was extremely competitive but walked away with an asterisk mark 14th place finish. Performance wise he was right around 7th place good but with 30 laps to go while he was running in that position he had a tire violation during a pit stop and had to serve a pass through penalty under green. Historically at Atlanta Kasey Kahne has been a hero or a zero performer.
