Atlanta NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Jamie McMurray – Started in race trim. Said his car was really good. Said it was encouraging that both his car and his teammates (Kyle Larson) car are good off the truck.
Ryan Newman – Following his first three laps in the session he radioed his team and said, “It rides pretty well.” During his second run he said he was tight in and loose off the turns. Said his car drives well. Went to qualifying trim about 30 minutes into practice.
Clint Bowyer – Had a flat tire early in the session. Talked a lot about how his team was “new”. I don’t think he seems too optimistic. Towards the end of practice when he was 31st on the speed chart he said he’s too loose.
Paul Menard – After completing three laps he said that his car feels pretty good.
Denny Hamlin – Said his car was really good. It rotated well and he liked it on exit of the turns. Very pleased with his car.
