Martin Truex Jr.’s car was very fast. He was hugging the bottom of the track as good as anybody early.

On lap 27 under caution Alex Bowman’s engine blew up.
During the first pit stop Allgaier and Denny Hamlin had slight contact on pit road.
On lap 43 Jimmie Johnson passed Joey Logano for the lead. Once Jimmie Johnson got the lead he drove away from the pack. He led the next 34 laps.

On lap 57 Joey Logano was in 5th and said his car was a handful. During his first pit stop he only took two tires.
Kyle Larson’s team focused on running the low line because of the bumps.

Denny Hamlin really liked his car and said he could run it anywhere.
Kevin Harvick’s car was very good over long runs.

Notable Moment: Around lap 82 the caution came out for debris. Not everyone pitted. A few notables who pitted who dropped back in the running order were Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski. During this caution Tony Stewart was penalized for having an uncontrolled tire.
Notable Moment: On lap 91 Kevin Harvick rocketed past Jimmie Johnson for the lead. Johnson had a vibration and came down pit road the next time by. He had a loose right front. It dropped Johnson into the mid thirties, one lap down.

Notable Moment: On lap 118 Austin Dillon radioed his team and said something changed with the motor. He thought he dropped a cylinder.
On lap 120 Johnson said his handling was gone.
On lap 135 during a pit cycle Regan Smith was too fast on pit road and got penalized.
Notable Moment: On lap 135 during a pit cycle Brad Keselowski had an uncontrolled tire and his team got penalized. The penalty dropped him a lap down.
