Las Vegas Kobalt 400 NASCAR Practice #2 Notes
Carl Edwards – Practiced in his backup car after getting into the wall during qualifying. His backup car won at Chicagoland last year when Denny Hamlin drove it. They focused on shaking down their car making sure everything was alright.
Jamie McMurray – Practiced in his backup car after getting into the wall during qualifying.
Aric Almirola – After completing his first run he reported that he was too tight. Said this session was sort of a test and tune. Said his first run wasn’t so good. Said he was fast off the truck but he’s searching for balance. With about 20 minutes remaining he said his car gets loose as he runs. Towards the end he said he was tighter on exit but was better on entry of the corner.

Ryan Newman – After completing his first run he said, “A little wild out there. Balance ok, just hitting the splitter.” He was 7th on the speed chart at the time. Later he said his car needed to be more relaxed.
Austin Dillon – Happy with his car. Said it was good through the bumps in 1&2 and a little free in turn 3. Has good take off speed.
