Kurt Busch – Focused on long run speed this session. His car is very strong. Had the best 10 lap average early. Had a vibration during his first run. Following his first run he said he’s loose on exit, but carried the center better.” He said his car was headed in the right direction and he was pleased with how it performed. 30 minutes into practice his crew chief said, “You’re all good,” his team reportedly found the reason for his vibration. Seems optimistic. Said his team has done a good job keeping up with changing track conditions.
Martin Truex Jr. – Has been pleased with his car and said it was turning really well. He was a standout to Jeff Gordon on the speed charts.
Kevin Harvick – Showed good long run speed. Had the best 5 lap average. Had good short run speed but then the balance went away.

Ryan Newman – His car was on the splitter a little too hard during the opening laps. Battled tight conditions at the end of practice.
Landon Cassill – Said his car is handling better this session.
