Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Martinsville
Every week in NASCAR there’s drivers who have problems in the race and walk away with an asterisk mark result. Understanding misleading finishes and knowing how good drivers truly were can help give you the edge on your competition. Many fantasy racers just looked at results and assume that’s how good drivers were. This post explains who had a misleading result last fall at Martinsville, and how good they truly were.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano was the class of the field last fall at Martinsville but walked away with an asterisk mark 37th place finish. Performance wise I thought he had the best car. He earned the best PROS Rankings and led a race high 207 laps. In the event he was wrecked while leading from a vengeful Matt Kenseth.
Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski had a good car last fall but finished 32nd. Strength wise he was top five good but was involved in a multi-car accident with 66 laps to go shortly after a restart. In that race he led 143 laps and earned the second best PROS Ranking.
Matt Kenseth – Matt Kenseth had a fast car last fall at Martinsville. He looked top five strong but was taken out in a multi-car accident with 66 laps to go. That accident ruined his afternoon, but wrecking Joey Logano on purpose ended it. His car was good over long runs and worked well in traffic.
