Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Texas
Every week in NASCAR there’s drivers who have problems in the race and walk away with an asterisk mark result. Understanding misleading finishes and knowing how good drivers truly were can help give you the edge on your competition. Many fantasy racers just look at results and assume that’s how good drivers were. This post explains who had a misleading result last fall at Texas, and how good they truly were.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano likely had a great car last fall at Texas. His teammate dominated the race but we never got a chance to see how strong the #22 was. Logano started in 4th and while he was running in 4th on lap 10 he had a flat tire and spun. His flat tire caused damage to his car which sent him to the garage for many laps. When the checkered flag waved he finished 40th.
Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin didn’t have much of a chance to flex his muscle last fall at Texas. He had fueling system problems almost right when the race started. Around lap 25 under caution he went to the garage and it dropped him many laps down. After that his race was essentially over and it led to his 38th place finish.
Ryan Blaney – Nobody had a rougher year at Texas in 2015 then Ryan Blaney. Last spring he had an early engine failure (Texas Spring 2015 Asterisk Mark Report) and last fall he got into the wall early. On lap 25 he got the wall extremely hard and it marked the end of his race. Before he got into the wall he was running around 10th.
