Charlotte Coca Cola 600 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Paul Menard – Paul Menard has been fairly successful in the Coca Cola 600. Over the last four spring races he has a 12.5 average finish and a 16.5 average running position. Last fall Menard wasn’t competitive after damaging his car early in the event. When that race reached its conclusion he finished 36th and had a 33rd place average running position. Last spring he finished 14th but he was better than his result. He was likely between 6th to 10th place good but the fuel mileage aspect at the end cost him positions when he had to pit (Yahoo Race Chart). Also in the race it should be noted he had an 11th place average running position and earned the 12th best driver rating. In fall 2014 he ran well and had top ten potential but walked away with a 42nd place finish when his engine went south. In that event he started in 6th and ran in the top ten until the early competition caution when he got penalized when his crew members went over the wall too soon. That penalty dropped him deep in the running order but he was able to drive up towards the front again. On lap 136 while he was running in 12th his engine blew up. In the 2014 Coca Cola 600 he finished 8th. This season at intermediate tracks Menard has typically been high teens to mid-twenties good. (Yahoo B Driver)

Aric Almirola – Aric Almirola has had some decent runs at Charlotte. Since 2012 minus a spring 2013 accident he has a 15.9 average finish and a 16.1 average running position. Last fall Amirola had his strongest showing at Charlotte. He finished 10th, earned the 10th best driver rating, had a 12th place average running position and ran 82% percent of the laps inside the top fifteen. Last spring he the number you need to know about him is 17. He finished 17th, had a 17th place average running position and earned the 17th best driver rating. In fall 2014 he didn’t have a great race and was a low twenties performer. In the event he finished 22nd, earned the 23rd best driver rating and had a 24th place average running position. In spring 2014 Aric Almirola performed well. He started in 13th, had a 12th place average running position, earned the 12th best driver rating and finished 11th. In the race I think he performed slightly better than his result because while he was pitting under green with 54 laps to go he had a long timely pit stop. This year at 1.5 mile tracks Almirola has finished between 15th and 24th every race. (Yahoo B Driver)
