Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Pocono
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott can’t be underestimated at Pocono. Sure he’s a rookie, but he’s a “Super Rookie” and young drivers of that caliber have had success at Pocono. A few names to throw out there are Carl Edwards and Denny Hamlin. I expect Chase Elliott to perform very well at Pocono. It’s a Hendrick track and cars from that organization have won 5 of the last 7 races. Also let’s not overlook how good the #24 car has been a Pocono. In 2013 in the ARCA series Chase Elliott had results of 1st and 9th.
Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney should have a solid afternoon at Pocono. He’s driving essentially a Penske car and those have ranked among the best over the last few years at Pocono. If races would’ve played out conventionally for that organization they would likely have won 2 of the last 4 Pocono races. Last August at Pocono Joey Logano had the race won until he ran out of fuel at the end. In 2014 at Pocono in the Truck Series Blaney finished 5th. In 2013 in the Truck Series he led 20 laps and raced his way to victory lane.

Ty Dillon – Ty Dillon will be returning to action behind the wheel of the #95. He should be well prepared for this race after he races on Saturday in the Nationwide Series. Last June Dillon raced at Pocono and finished 18th. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him finishing right around that range again. Dillon has been in five races this season and in every event he’s finished between 15th and 25th.
Landon Cassill – At Pocono Landon Cassill be making his 200th start. Last fall at Pocono he finished 14th. Performance wise he was really low twenties good and his finish is the result of benefiting from the fuel mileage aspect at the end. In 3 of the 4 Pocono races prior to that he finished between 25th and 33rd.
Brian Scott – Brian Scott has never raced at Pocono in a NASCAR national series. It’s a very unique track and his lack of experience certainly can’t be viewed as a plus. At the Tricky Triangle I expect him to finish in the twenties. I’m basing that off largely how teammate Aric Almirola has performed here. In 5 of Almirola’s last 7 Pocono races he’s finished between 18th and 22nd. In a 2008 start at Pocono in the ARCA series he finished 20th.
Chris Buescher – Chris Buescher does have a few races under his belt at Pocono, but how relevant is ARCA experience? In those races he likely had a vastly superior car so you really can’t put too much stock in his results. In 2012 at Pocono in that division of racing he finished 5th in both races. In 2011 in that series he had results of 2nd and 3rd.
