Pocono NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

NOTE: Practice #1 started late because of fog and ended early because of rain. Only 28 drivers got out on the track.

Martin Truex Jr. – Tested here and will be using his favorite chassis this week.

Kurt Busch – His crew chief is suspended this week. He started in qualifying trim to get in a fast lap because of approaching rain. Reported that his car has plenty of speed.

Brian Scott – Was in race trim. Reported that his car is really tight. Ran 7 laps which was tied for the most.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Was in race trim to start the session. Ran 6 laps which is close to the highest lap total.

AJ Allmendinger – His crew chief is suspended this week. Planned to start in race trim but then changed to qualifying trim because of approaching weather.

Greg Biffle – His crew chief is suspended this week. Robbie Reiser who was formerly Kenseth’s crew chief will serve as his crew chief this weekend.

Ryan Newman – Tested here.

Brad Keselowski – Tested here.

Kyle Larson – Said his car felt good. Tested here a little while ago and said his car drove good during the test.

Kasey Kahne – Was in race trim. Ran 6 laps which was a lot for this session.

Chris Buescher & Michael Annett – Both ran 7 laps which was tied with Brian Scott for the most run this session.
