Indianapolis Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch should be on your short list of fantasy options at Indy. He’s the defending champion and has a series high 6 consecutive top tens. In 3 of the last 4 races Busch has finished in the top 2. Over this four race stretch he has the 2nd best driver rating, a 3.8 average finish and a 7.0 average running position. Last year Busch had a strong car. He took the lead during a late restart and never looked back. In addition to winning he earned the 2nd best driver rating, had a 5th place average running position and led 19 laps. In 2014 he finished runner-up and earned the 3rd best driver rating. In 2013 he was solid. He started 19th, had an 11th place average running position and finished 10th. In 2012 he was Jimmie Johnson’s biggest threat. He finished 2nd, earned the second best driver rating and had a 4th place average running position. In the next two most recent races at Indy he finished 8th and 10th. (Yahoo A Driver)

Kevin Harvick – Kevin Harvick will be a good fantasy NASCAR pick at Indy. He’s a former winner who’s finished in the top thirteen 80% percent of the time. His overall average finish is 10.2. One strength of his at Indy that should be noted is the safety that picking him provides. Minus the 2008 tire debacle he’s never finished outside the top twenty. Currently at Indy Harvick has back to back top tens. Last year Harvick had a great car and I would argue it was the best. If he he would’ve had a better late restart there’s no doubt he would’ve won. When the race reached its conclusion he earned the best driver rating, led the most laps (75), had the best average running position (3.0) and finished 3rd. In 2014 Harvick had a strong showing. He started on the pole, led 12 laps, had a 6th place average running position and finished 8th. Also in the race it should be noted he earned the 4th best driver rating. In his three Indy races prior to joining Stewart-Haas Racing Harvick had results of 11th, 13th and 19th. This spring at Pocono Harvick finished 9th and led 9 laps. I will note he was better than his result in that race. (Yahoo A Driver)
Joey Logano – Joey Logano will be one of the drivers to beat at Indy. Since he’s been in the #22 car he’s been an elite performer here. Over the last three races Logano has the 3rd best driver rating, is tied for the best average running position (8.0), has the 2nd best average finish (5.0) and has led the 4th most laps (49). Last year Logano was a consistent front runner and ran well throughout the race. He started 2nd, finished 2nd, had a 5th place average running position, earned the 3rd best driver rating and led 28 laps. In 2014 Logano had a strong race. He started 9th, had a 9th place average running position, earned the 6th best driver rating and finished 5th. One aspect that should be noted about his performance is that he used lots of strategy in the event. Also because of the strategy element of the race he managed to pace the field for 10 laps. In 2013 Logano also ran well. He started 11th, led 11 laps and finished 8th. All of his laps led came through pit strategy but he was very solid throughout the event. Also in the race he earned the 9th best driver rating and had a 10th place average running position. At Pocono this spring Logano ran really well leading 17 laps and finishing 5th. (Yahoo A Driver)
