Indianapolis Happy Hour Practice Notes

Aric Almirola – Didn’t really like his car. His car wasn’t handling like how he wanted. During his final run in race trim he said that his car turned better. He went to qualifying trim with about 20 minutes remaining.

Ryan Newman – Started in race trim. Said his car feels good for 1 lap and then needs work. His car was sensitive in traffic. Later in qualifying trim he jumped up to 2nd and reported he was a too loose. With 2 minutes to go he radioed his team and said his car is definitely better.

Greg Biffle – 20 minutes into practice following his second run in qualifying trim he said, “That’s a lot better but still have a little bit of work to do.” During that run in qualifying trim he jumped to the top of the speed chart (at the time). Got into the wall slightly in the second half of practice.

Jeff Gordon – Appears he focused exclusively on race trim this session. Feels like his car needs to be a little better.

Denny Hamlin – Focused on being good over long runs. Ran a ton of laps.
