Bristol Race Notes
Ty Dillon drove the #14. Tony Stewart missed the race because of injury.
The outside lane was the quickest way around Bristol. Drivers had a hard time passing in the low line.
Carl Edwards who started on the pole selected the top lane. He led the opening 36 laps.
Big Moment: When the race went green Dale Earnhardt Jr. couldn’t get up to speed and came down pit road right away. He said he had no power. His problem also hurt Kurt Busch, Aric Almirola and David Ragan. On lap 6 Earnhardt Jr. was down two laps. It was supposedly an electronic control box malfunction. Aric Almirola had quite a bit of damage to his nose.

On lap 37 Joey Logano passed Carl Edwards for the lead. A few laps later Carl Edwards retook the lead.
Passing lapped traffic was difficult. The leader had a hard time when they drove to the bottom lane to get around slower cars.

Notable Moment: On lap 52 Kyle Busch was running in 3rd but had a flat tire and got into the wall hard.
Notable Moment: On lap 70 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. spun and brought out the caution. Hew as running in 17th.
Notable Moment: During the Ricky Stenhouse Jr. caution Brad Keselowski was caught speeding on pit road. It dropped him from the top ten to 28th.

Notable Moment: On lap 109 Joey Logano made an unexpected pit stop and came to pit road for lug nut issues. He was in 6th prior to pitting. As he was pitting he got an uncontrolled tire violation. This dropped him a couple laps down.
Notable Moment: On lap 116 Kyle Busch spun with a little help from Chris Buescher. Following this caution Dale Earnhardt Jr. got back on the lead lap.

Kurt Busch drove aggressively and wasn’t afraid to use his bumper on others.
Big Moment: Kyle Larson was running in 3rd on lap 147 but he got into the wall hard and brought out the caution. He then took his car to the garage. His track bar broke. He was 37 laps down when he returned to the track.
Notable Moment: During the Kyle Larson caution Trevor Bayne got a commitment cone violation. He was running in the top ten prior to his problem.

On lap 172 AJ Allmendinger’s team told him the only driver better than him on the stop watch was Kevin Harvick.
Notable Moment: Around lap 180 Chase Elliott made an unexpected pit stop and went two laps down.
Notable Moment: On lap 187 Matt Kenseth who was leading blew a left front tire and got into the wall.
Notable Moment: During the Matt Kenseth caution Denny Hamlin ran into the back of somebody and got damage to his nose. He had to pit again for repairs. He would’ve been running in 3rd. Also during the Kenseth caution Kyle Busch who was running in the top ten got a speeding penalty.

On lap 200 Dale Earnhardt Jr. liked his car. He was running in 11th at the time.
