Pure Michigan 400 Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kevin Harvick – Kevin Harvick is an elite performer at Michigan who’ll be one of the drivers to beat. At Michigan he’s a past champion who’s finished in the top five in 6 of the last 7 races. In 5 of those races he finished 2nd. The one race he finished outside the top five he arguably had the best car but walked away with a misleading result as you’ll read about below. This spring Harvick really didn’t have a great car but he was up front when it mattered. In the race he started 29th, had a 15th place average running position and finished 5th. Last August when the high-down force package was used he ran well and finished runner-up. Additionally in the race he earned the 2nd best driver rating, had a 7th place average running position and led 15 laps. In spring 2015 he had a great car but finished 29th. Performance wise I thought he had the best car but he lost the race on pit road when he had valve stem issues that led to a flat tire. Prior to that issue he was the leader and had a 4.6 second lead. From that race it should be noted he earned the 2nd best driver rating, led 63 laps and ran the most fastest laps. In the four Michigan races prior to that he finished runner-up. (Yahoo A Driver)

Joey Logano – Joey Logano will be a favorite to win at Michigan. He’s the most recent winner and since he’s been a member of Penske Racing he’s been the premiere fantasy ace in the series at 2.0 mile ovals. Since 2013 at tracks of this length minus the 2014 Auto Club race where he had problems he’s been to victory lane twice, finished in the top five 60% percent of the time and in the top ten 100% percent of the time. His average finish over those events is 4.9. At Michigan in Penske equipment he’s been a fantasy stud and is 7 for 7 in terms of finishing in the top ten. Over those events he has a 5.0 average finish, 6.1 average running position and has led a series best 332 laps. This spring at Michigan he put on a display of domination. In that event he started on the pole, earned a near perfect driver rating, finished first and led 138 laps. Nobody had anything for him in the race. Last August he had a quiet race and finished 7th. In spring 2015 he ran well and finished 5th. In August 2014 he had a great car. He started 2nd, earned the 2nd best driver rating, had a 3rd place average running position and finished 3rd. Also in the race it should be noted he led the most laps (86). In June 2014 he had a very strong performance. He started 9th, finished 9th, had a 6th place average running position, earned the 3rd best driver rating and led 29 laps. In the race he performed better than his result. He was a top five performer but his pit strategy at the end cost him some positions. In August 2013 Logano raced his way to victory lane. In addition to finishing first he started 1st, had a 4th place average running position, led 51 laps and earned the best driver rating. (Yahoo A Driver)
