Ryan Newman – Ryan Newman has had some success at Talladega, particularly in the fall event. Over the last four October races he’s finished in the top twelve every race and has an 8.75 average finish. In 5 of the last 8 Talladega races he has five results of 12th or better. This spring Newman was collected in a wreck that led to him finishing 28th. Over the five races prior to that his 10.2 average finish tied him with Kevin Harvick for the best in the series. Last fall he did his typical drive in the back until the end technique and it worked well for him. When the race reached its conclusion he finished 12th. It should be noted he likely benefited about 7 positions because of the late carnage. In spring 2015 he drove near the back for the first 155 laps until he decided to make his move forward. At the end it looked like he would finish around 17th but he befitted from the last lap carnage and finished 10th. In fall 2014 he was aided by how that race ended unconventionally and finished 5th. Clint Bowyer – Clint Bowyer finally has fantasy value again. It’s been a tough season and in this race he’ll be on far better footing than he is most weekends. He’s an elite restrictor plate talent and the draft is a great equalizer. It will bring parity to the field and that’s good news for drivers like him who are in inferior equipment. This season Clint Bowyer has 3 top tens and 2 of them came on this track type. It should also be noted that all three of his top tens have come in high attrition races and on Sunday you can likely expect that. From a career perspective Talladega is arguably Clint Bowyer’s best track. He’s won here twice and has finished in the top ten 57% percent of the time. Of the drivers who use the “run in the back” until the end strategy, he’s perhaps the best. Recently at Talladega he’s been successful. In 5 of the last 6 races he’s finished in the top ten. This spring he started deep in the field but dodged the carnage to finish 7th. Last fall he had a similar race and finished 8th. In spring 2015 he was on pace to finish 9th but on the last lap he wrecked. In the three Talladega races prior to that he had results of 3rd, 3rd and 10th. (Yahoo B Driver)

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is a quality dark horse fantasy option at Talladega. He performs well here and it ranks as one of his better tracks. In his career at Talladega he has a 12.8 average finish and has only once had a result below 16th. This spring he took part in the carnage but escaped with a 16th place finish. Additionally in the race it should be noted he earned the 14th best driver rating and had a 19th place average running position. In 3 of the 4 Talladega races prior to that he finished in the top ten. Last fall he had a quality performance, but he did benefit from the mass carnage a little bit. When the race reached its conclusion he finished 9th. In spring 2015 he spent much of the race running in the back, but near the end he advanced in the running order. On the final lap he was on pace to finish 13th but he was caught up in the last lap carnage and finished 26th as a result. In the three Talladega races prior to that he had results of 3rd, 10th and 13th. (Yahoo B Driver)
