Martinsville Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Danica Patrick – Martinsville is a track where Danica Patrick has increased fantasy value. It’s a rhythm track and she seems to typically get better over the course of a race. In her career minus the two races she was involved in accidents she has a 16.8 average finish. This spring she ran well and finished 16th. Late in the event it looked like she had legitimate top ten potential but her handling seemed to fade. Additionally in the race it should be noted she had a 16th place average running position and earned the 18th best driver rating. Last fall she had many problems over the course of the afternoon. In the race she started in 16th and took a slow nose dive in the running order. Her first problem happened shortly after the lap 113 restart when she got damage. Her next problem happened around lap 156. David Gilliland got into the back of Patrick and that concluded with her having hard contact with wall. To top off her afternoon she spun with 83 laps to go and then inflicted more damage on her car when she decided to run into the back of Gilliland. That led to her finishing 40th. In spring 2015 she had a great race and finished 7th. Over the second half of the race I would estimate she had a 10th place average running position. Also in the race it should be noted she earned the 12th best driver rating. In fall 2014 while she was running in 16th she was collected in a big multi-car wreck (finished 34th). (Yahoo B Driver)

Greg Biffle – Greg Biffle is capable of coming home with a respectable result at Martinsville. Since 2012 minus last falls race he has a 12.9 average finish and a 16.0 average running position. Martinsville can turn into an attrition race and he’s done a good job avoiding the carnage. In 7 of the last 8 races he’s finished on the lead lap in the top twenty. This spring he performed much like his basic stats line since 2012. When the checkered flag waved he finished 12th and had a 15th place average running position. In 77.6% percent of the laps he ran in the top fifteen. Last fall he didn’t have an incident free race. In the race he damaged his car in a multi-car wreck on lap 113 and then he spun on laps 156 and 281. When the race reached its conclusion he finished 26th and had a 27th place average running position. In spring 2015 he didn’t have a great car. He finished 19th, earned the 19th best driver rating and had a 20th place average running position. In 5 of the 6 Martinsville races prior to that he finished between 9th and 13th. (Yahoo B Driver)
