Texas Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Kasey Kahne – Don’t count out Kasey Kahne at Texas. In the Chase at 1.5 mile tracks he’s finished in the top ten every race and has a 6.6 average finish. At Texas Kahne is a past champion who’s frequently finished well. In 5 of the last 7 Texas races he’s finished in the top 11. This spring Kahne started in 17th but raced his way up to an 8th place result. Last fall Kahne finished 20th but it’s important to note he ran better than his result. Performance wise he was likely between 9th to 13th place good but for whatever reason he took a nose dive in the running order late. In spring 2015 he had a solid showing and finished 8th. In the race he ran well throughout the event and was a little better than his result. He likely was top five good but some late pit strategy shuffled him back to about 9th. Also in that race he earned the 3rd best driver rating, had a 7th place average running position and led 6 laps. In the three Texas races prior to that he had results of 5th, 11th and 11th. Kurt Busch – I don’t expect Kurt Busch to win at Texas, but I do expect him to come home with a solid finish. This year at 1.5 mile tracks he’s been a very solid performer. For the season at tracks of this length he’s scored the 4th most points, has the best average finish (7.7) and is one of just two drivers who have finished in the top 15 every race. In the Chase at these venues he had results of 8th, 13th and 13th. Texas has been a good track for Busch. In 3 of the last 4 races he’s finished in the top ten. Over these four events he has the 9th best driver rating, a 9.5 average finish and a 9.5 average running position. This spring he had a solid showing. He finished 9th and had a 13th place average running position. Last fall he ran well throughout the event. He started 7th, finished 7th, earned the 7th best driver rating and had a 9th place average running position. Performance wise he was really about 12th place good but he advanced quite a few positions late in the event. In spring 2015 he ran well but his team didn’t keep up with changing track conditions. In the race he started on the pole, had an 8th place average running position, finished 14th and led 45 laps. In fall 2014 he had a strong car. He finished 8th, had an 8th place average running position and led 15 laps. (Yahoo A Driver)
