Aric Almirola – Aric Almirola has had success at Phoenix. Over the last 9 races in the desert he’s finished between 10th and 19th. Over the last five Phoenix races he has a 15.0 average finish and a 15.6 average running position. This spring he ran well and had one of his best performances of the season. In the event he finished 13th, earned the 13th best driver rating and had a 12th place average running position. Last fall he had a solid showing. He started 17th, had a 16th place average running position and finished 10th. It’s important to note his finish is inflated with how the final caution played out during the pit cycle. Performance wise he was really about 16th place good. In spring 2015 he didn’t have a great race. He started in 32nd and finished 19th. During the course of the afternoon he slowly climbed up through the running order. In the five Phoenix races prior to that he finished between 15th and 19th. This year at shorter flat tracks minus Phoenix #1, Almirola has finished between 17th and 21st every race. (Yahoo B Driver)

Paul Menard – This spring at Phoenix two RCR cars melted the beads in their tires and then careened into the wall. Paul Menard was one of those drivers. His incident happened on lap 106 while he was running around 20th. That led to his 38th place finish. Last year at Phoenix Menard was solid. Between the combined events he scored the 11th most points and had a 13.5 average finish. In November 2015 he had a strong performance. He started 15th, finished 13th and had an 11th place average running position. In spring 2015 he also ran well. He finished 14th, earned the 14th best driver rating and had a 15th place average running position. It was a solid smooth race for him. In 2014 he had a pair of 23rd place results. This year at shorter flat tracks in incident free races he’s finished between 18th and 25th. (Yahoo B Driver)

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Stenhouse Jr. has shown some potential at Phoenix in the past. In the last two Phoenix races he’s wrecked. This spring he blew a tire on lap 163 while running in 21st which led to him hitting the wall hard. When the race reached its conclusion he finished 37th. Last fall he wrecked while running in 19th. In his first five Phoenix races he had a 15th place average finish and had a result between 12th and 18th every race. In spring 2015 he finished 12th which tied his best finish at Phoenix. Also in the race it should be noted he earned the 16th best driver rating and had a 19th place average running position. His four results prior to that are finishes of 12th, 16th, 17th and 18th.
