Homestead NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Drivers who were parked for the first 15 minutes because of penalties: Logano, Keselowski, Elliott, Ragan and Gaulding.

Martin Truex Jr. – Was in qualifying trim the entire practice. Was fast in that setup and ended the session 2nd on the speed chart.

AJ Allmendinger – Had really good speed among the drivers who were in race trim. Got into the wall slightly.

Denny Hamlin – Started in race trim and practiced running up against the wall. Appears to have good speed in race trim.

Michael McDowell – Following his first run he reported that his car feels good, just a little too tight. He was in race trim at the time. Before he went to qualifying trim 40 minutes into the session he was 24th on the speed chart.
