Kyle Larson – His team wanted to make two long runs (40 – 50 laps) to get a good feel for his car. Had the best 10 and 20 lap averages early. DW thought his car looked solid. On lap 40 at the end of his first long run his spotter said, “Really good last lap.”

Daniel Suarez – Will start in the rear of the field on Sunday in his backup car (credited with starting 19th). He planned on running a lot of laps to get comfortable. His car didn’t look that great. Started with about a 30 lap run.

Brad Keselowski – His car had very competitive speed. Had the fastest overall lap.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – His crew chief told him 25 minutes into practice his car was respectable and will get better on long runs. Late in practice he said his car was the worst it’s been and it was really bad in the center. At the very end he said, “Real, real tight, we’re really not hitting on it.”

AJ Allmendinger – 10 minutes into practice while he was 5th on the speed chart he said, “Not bad, need a little more forward drive off.” His crew chief is back this week. Said his car is getting better. Said his car is close but it’s not the fastest car yet. Said so far, so good.
