Kansas Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Clint Bowyer – Kansas is Clint Bowyer’s home track and a strong finish should be expected from him. This year at intermediate tracks he has an 8.8 average result and has finished in the top 11 every race. At the three 1.5 mile tracks visited he’s finished in either 10th or 11th. Recently at Kansas he hasn’t had any success. Personally for fantasy purposes I would focus solely on how he’s performed at intermediate tracks in 2017. Last year at Kansas in his uncompetitive situation he had results of 26th and 19th. In fall 2015 in his MWR ride he looked mid-teens good but on lap 171 while he was running in 16th he lost control of his car and wrecked. In spring 2015 he started 21st and finished 21st. Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney should be taken very seriously at Kansas. Texas is the last 1.5 mile track visited and he looked very impressive there winning the first two segments, leading 148 laps and then finishing 12th. At the two intermediate tracks visited prior to that race he had results of 7th (Las Vegas) and 9th (Auto Club). At Kansas Blaney has run well having an 8.7 average finish and a 10.7 average running position over the last three races. Last fall he had a respectable performance finishing 14th and having a 15th place average running position. Last spring he had a strong showing and was a consistent front runner. In the race he finished 5th, had a 7th place average running position and earned the 6th best driver rating. In fall 2015 in a pre-rookie year start, he also had a strong showing. In that race he finished 7th, had a 10th place average running position and earned the 9th best driver rating. (Yahoo B Driver)
Erik Jones – Erik Jones is a solid intermediate track driver. This year performance wise on this track type he’s typically been a low-teens driver in incident free races. On Saturday night I would look for him to finish somewhere around that range. Erik Jones does have one Sprint Cup start under his belt at Kansas. In spring 2015 he was top ten good but wrecked late and finished 40th. (Yahoo C Driver)
