Fantasy NASCAR Low Tier – Charlotte
Chris Buescher – This year at 1.5 mile tracks Chris Buescher has finished between 18th and 24th every race. One positive trend for him on at tracks of this length in 2017 is that he’s always finished better than the race before so hopefully that trend will hold true. Another positive attribute about him is that his team is starting to perform better on a weekly basis because he has three straight results in the teens. Last fall at Charlotte in a high-attrition race Chris Buescher finished 16th. In spring 2016 he didn’t run well and finished 37th. His race wasn’t incident free. On lap 234 he was off-pace and made an unexpected pit stop. Prior to his problem he was running around 23rd. If had an incident free race he probably would’ve finished in the low to mid-twenties. Danica Patrick – Write down Danica Patrick for a finish between 17th and 24th. In incident free races at 1.5 mile tracks that’s been her typical finish range. This year in her incident free races at 1.5 mile tracks she’s had results of 17th and 24th. One aspect I don’t like about her entering the weekend is her momentum. Her average finish over the last five races is 30.4. Last fall at Charlotte Patrick finished 11th. Don’t read into that result because it was a super high-attrition race where quite a few other drivers who typically aren’t competitive snuck in good results. In the three races prior to that she finished within the typical finish range I talked about. Last spring Patrick finished 21st and had a 25th place average running position. In 2015 she had a decent year. She finished 22nd in the spring, and 19th in the fall. (Yahoo B Driver)
Michael McDowell – At Charlotte I would look for Michael McDowell to likely be around low-twenties to mid-twenties good. That’s just how his team stacks up against the competition on normal weekends. At Charlotte you really can’t read into his history very much, in fact I wouldn’t read into it at all. Last fall at Charlotte in a super high attrition race he finished 14th, Danica Patrick finished 11th so that should tell you something. In the five Charlotte races prior to that he finished 29th or worse. His equipment in those events wasn’t on par with what he’s currently driving. (Yahoo C Driver)
Landon Cassill – Minus the Daytona 500 and Bristol, Landon Cassill has finished between 21st and 29th every race. In the Coca Cola 600 we should look for him to finish within that range again. This year in the four combined races at 1.5 mile tracks Landon Cassill has a 24.8 average finish and a 28.0 average running position. Last fall at Charlotte in a high-attrition race Landon Cassill finished 19th. In the two Charlotte races prior to that he had results of 27th and 23rd. (Yahoo C Driver)
