Fantasy NASCAR Low Tier – Pocono
Michael McDowell – Look for Michael McDowell to likely be a low-twenties to mid-twenties driver. Performance wise that’s just how he stacks up against the competition. At Pocono McDowell only has one started on his resume since 2014. Last August he finished 22nd and had a 25th place average running position. In many of his other starts prior to that he was in “start and park” equipment so you can’t read into those results. (Yahoo C Driver)
Danica Patrick – Pocono has proven to be tricky for Danica Patrick and it ranks as her 2nd worst track, her very worst track is Indy which happens to be the most similar. At Pocono Patrick’s average finish is 29.8 and only twice in her eight starts has she finished better than 29th. Last fall by her standards she had a great race. In the event she finished 22nd and had a 22nd place average running position. In spring 2016 she had an OK car but ended up finishing 32nd after being involved in an accident on lap 93. At the time of that incident she was running in the upper teens. In August 2015 she had her best race and finished 16th. Over the last 60 laps she typically ran between 16th and 19th. Her average running position that afternoon was 17th. In spring 2015 she ran well and was on pace to have her best Pocono race but her afternoon wasn’t incident free. With 26 laps to go she had a right rear tire go flat and got into the wall. She was running in 11th at the time of the incident. Later in the race with 7 laps to go she spun again coming off turn 3. When that race reached its conclusion she finished 37th. (Yahoo B Driver)

David Ragan – Pocono hasn’t been a bad track for David Ragan. Given his tier he has some upside this week. Last August he didn’t run well at all. He finished 32nd and had a 34th place average running position. In the six Pocono races prior to that he finished between 17th and 23rd which is very respectable for his tier. (Yahoo C Driver)
Landon Cassill – Nothing good will come from picking Landon Cassill at Pocono. It’s a terrible track for him. His average finish is 31.3 and only once in his thirteen starts has he finished better than 24th. Last year at the “Tricky Triangle” he had results of 30th and 36th. (Yahoo C Driver)
Cole Whitt – Don’t expect much fantasy production out of Cole Whitt at Pocono. In 5 of his 6 starts he’s finished between 27th and 31st. A result around that range is probably likely again. Last year he had results of 30th and 31st. In 2015 he finished 27th and 28th.
