Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Pocono
Chris Buescher – Chris Buescher was the race winner last August but he certainly didn’t have the best car. Performance wise he was mid-twenties good. His victory can largely be chalked up to him getting a speeding penalty on lap 96 that got him slightly out of sync with the field fuel wise. That later allowed him to stay out longer at the end when the fog clouds rolled in.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano had a great car last August at Pocono. The race was full of strategy but realistically I thought he had the strongest car. Logano finished 37th but he led a race high 38 laps. His misleading result can be attributed to him getting involved in a wreck with Chase Elliott.
Martin Truex Jr. – I think Martin Truex Jr. had a great car last spring. He started on the pole and led the opening 16 laps until the first caution came out. Then during the restart he had a flat tire and got into the wall hard. He had a couple more issues which led to his misleading 38th place finish. If his race would’ve been incident free I think he might’ve been able to finish in the top five.
