Michigan Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Joey Logano – Joey Logano has been really bad recently. Over the last five races he’s finished 22nd or worse and has a 27.6 average finish. This slump of his is very real, and I would urge you to try to avoid it. Michigan is the perfect place for him to try to turn things around because he’s been an elite performer here. At Michigan he’s the defending champion of this particular event and since he’s driven the #22 he’s a perfect 8 for 8 in terms of finishing in the top ten. Among drivers who competed in the last five Michigan races Logano has the best driver rating, average finish (5.2), average running position (7.0) and has led the most laps (255). Last August he started on the pole but was never really a factor. When the checkered flag waved he finished 10th, had an 8th place average running position and earned the 7th best driver rating. Last spring he put on a display of domination. In that event he started on the pole, earned a near perfect driver rating, finished first and led 138 laps. Nobody had anything for him in the race. In August 2015 he had a quiet race and finished 7th. In spring 2015 he ran well and finished 5th. In the four Michigan races prior to that he had results of 3rd, 9th, 1st and 9th. (Yahoo A Driver)

Clint Bowyer – Look for Clint Bowyer to challenge for a top ten at Michigan. This year on a weekly basis on this track type he’s been about a 10th place performer. Auto Club and Kansas are the two most similar track visited in 2017 and at those venues he had results of 3rd (Auto Club) and 9th (Kansas). In sub-par equipment as you would guess times were rough for Bowyer at MIS. Historically Michigan has been a great track for Clint Bowyer. Prior to the last three MIS races he had a 9 race top ten streak. (Yahoo B Driver)
Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin has been a solid competitor at Michigan. In 4 of the last 5 races he’s finished in the top 11. Over this stretch minus spring 2016 he has an 8.0 average finish and an 11.3 average running position. Last August he had a solid showing. He had a 7th place average running position, earned the 8th best driver rating and finished 9th. Last spring he ran fairly well but his race wasn’t incident free. With 12 laps to go while he was running in 12th he blew a tire and crashed hard. That led to him finishing 33rd. In the three MIS races prior to that he had a 7.7 average finish, 12.7 average running position and the 8th best driver rating. In August 2015 he had his best Michigan race since his 2011 win and crossed the finish line in 5th. In spring 2015 he walked away with a respectable 11th place finish with the help of pit strategy.
