The Low Tier – Sonoma
Ty Dillon – I don’t view Ty Dillon as a road course racer. Maybe a low-twenties finish is the best I would look for from him. Last year among first time Sonoma participants the highest finisher came home with a 21st place result and I don’t see Ty Dillon beating that. Last year in the lower series at road courses Ty Dillon had results of 4th, 11th and 12th. His 4th was at Mid-Ohio which I view as the most similar track, but if I recall correctly they also raced in the rain in that event so you really can’t read into that result. (Yahoo C Driver)
Chris Buescher – Chris Buescher will never strike me as a road course racer. Last year he finished 30th at both road courses. The only upside I see in him is hope that AJ Allmendinger has given him a really good setup that he’s able to race well. Last year in his Sonoma debut he was really bad. He finished 30th, had a 31st place average running position and earned the 27th best driver rating. In NASCAR’s top series he has no other starts under his belt here. (Yahoo B Driver)

Boris Said – At Sonoma Boris Said will be driving the #33. Not a lot of good will come from picking him. This is an uncompetitive car and the day of road course ringers is over. In Said’s last five Sonoma starts he has a 27.2 average finish. (Yahoo C Driver)
David Ragan – Nothing good will come from picking David Ragan. His average finish is 30.7 and in his ten starts he’s never finished better than 24th. In the last four Sonoma races he’s finished in the thirties. Last year he finished 32nd. (Yahoo C Driver)
Landon Cassill – Landon Cassill isn’t a good road course racer. His average finish over his four starts is 34.8. Last year at this serpentine track he had his best result and finished 29th. (Yahoo C Driver)
