Daytona NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes

NOTE: Only 19 drivers participated in this practice session.

Michael McDowell – Said his car was a little better than it was during the first practice session. Was missing a little bit of speed which makes it hard to make moves in the draft. At the very end he said, “Can’t get much better than that right there!” Ran 20 laps which was the most in the session.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Practiced driving around the back of the pack to put his car in the worst handling conditions possible. Ran 14 laps.

Aric Almirola – He was interviewed and said he felt really good. Said everything looks good and his bones are repairing. Will be scheduling a test in a few weeks. Hopes to be back around New Hampshire or Indy.

Matt Kenseth – Did a 3 lap run and said he was happy with his car. That concluded his practice session.

Jamie McMurray – Worked to make sure his car wouldn’t drag. Did a qualifying run and only ran 1 lap.
