Indianapolis NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Kasey Kahne – Started in race trim with a ten lap run and appeared to have good speed. 10 minutes into practice while he was 2nd on the speed chart his crew chief said, “Pretty good lap times here.” 20 minutes into practice Kahne said, “I was pretty decent. Tight in Turn 3 and freer everywhere else, especially on exit.” 40 minutes into practice he scrubbed the wall a little bit (nothing to be concerned about).
Kyle Busch – Has a fast car and ended the session 6th on the speed chart after completing 15 laps. Reported he needed help in the center of the corners.
Aric Almirola – Started in race trim and his opening run 10 minutes into practice had him 14th on the speed chart. Changed his alternator this session. 30 minutes into practice he said his car feels unbalanced and was 21st on the speed chart.

Ty Dillon – Following his first run he said his car feels a bit uneasy on corner entry. 35 minutes into practice he said his team made a positive adjustment. At that time he wanted to be more secure on entry. 45 minutes into practice he said he wanted more lateral grip to be faster.
AJ Allmendinger – 15 minutes into practice he said, “Turns a little better, but whole car feels out of the racetrack. Front chatters a little bit. Sliding through the corner.” 40 minutes into practice while he was 24th on the speed chart he said he was pretty loose and needed more steering in his car. Portions of this content are hidden.
