Pocono Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Trevor Bayne – At Pocono I would look for Trevor Bayne to likely be a high-teens to low-twenties performer. If he finishes around the mid-teens or better than you should consider it a win. This spring he was a low-twenties performer. In the race he finished 21st and had a 20th place average running position. Last summer in the fog shortened event he finished 18th and had a 23rd place average running position. In spring 2016 he had his best race at the “Tricky Triangle.” He finished 13th, had a 19th place average running position and earned the 19th best driver rating. Performance wise his average running position is a better indicator towards his level of competitiveness than his finish. (Yahoo B Driver)

Ty Dillon – Ty Dillon has three Pocono starts under his belt and his combined average finish is 19th. In all three of his races he’s finished between 18th and 21st. Performance wise on Sunday I would look for him to likely be a high-teens performer. This spring at Pocono there was nothing special about his race. He finished 18th and had a 20th place average running position. Spring 2016 was his next most recent race and on paper it’s his worst result. In that race he finished 21st and had a 25th place average running position. In spring 2015 in his first race he finished 18th which matched where he finished this spring. (Yahoo B Driver)
Paul Menard – Pocono has been one of Paul Menard’s least successful tracks. Among fully funded teams he might just be the worst driver in the series. Since 2013 his best finish is 11th and all of his other 8 results are 20th or worse. This spring by his standards he had a good race. He finished 20th, earned the 21st best driver rating and had a 16th place average running position. Last August it’s hard to speculate how good he was. He qualified in 3rd but on lap 20 during a restart when he was in 4th he had transmission issues that sent him to the garage and led to his 35th place finish. In spring 2016 he was likely high-teens good but his race wasn’t incident free. On lap 87 he had a broken brake rotor and it sent him to the garage. At the time of that incident he was running around 20th. August 2015 was a fuel mileage race at the end and he finished 11th. In the four races prior to that he finished between 26th and 33rd.
