Richmond NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Matt Kenseth – His car has really good speed. 15 minutes into the session he was at the top of the speed chart. He ended the session first after completing 51 laps.

Martin Truex Jr. – Has no plans of backing off this weekend and wants to continue to get more bonus points. Was very fast this practice session and ended the session in 2nd after completing 29 laps.

Ryan Newman – 35 minutes into practice he said his car feels pretty good. At that time he was 12th after completing 25 laps.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – His crew chief is suspended this weekend. Got off to a good start this practice session. His car unloaded fast. Ended the session 6th after completing 47 laps.

Erik Jones – Will be parked for the first 60 minutes of Happy Hour. Started with a 15 lap run that put him 7th on the speed chart. His car was said to be in the ball park. Wasn’t happy with his rear grip near the end of practice. Supposedly he’s not feeling any pressure to make the playoffs.
