Kyle Busch who won the pole selected to start in the low-line. He led the opening 21 laps.
On lap 8 Kevin Harvick was already up to 19th after starting in the back.
Martin Truex Jr.’s team really worked on being good at the bottom of the track in practice leading up to the race. His car was extremely quick.

On lap 19, Kevin Harvick was battling Ryan Newman for 10th. It was an extremely impressive start.
On lap 22 Martin Truex Jr. passed Kyle Busch for the lead with a pass on the outside-groove. Truex then led the next 30 laps.

BIG Moment: On lap 50 the first caution came out when Aric Almirola had a loose tire that rolled out into the grass while he was doing his pit stop. It was during the middle of green flag pit stops. Martin Truex Jr. who was the leader didn’t pit yet so this really jumbled up the running order. When the caution came out Harvick and Kyle Larson were put a lap down. Johnson was on pit road too but he remained on the lead lap and as a result he inherited the lead. When Johnson got the lead he then led the next 50 laps.

Notable Moment: Around lap 70 Martin Truex Jr. made an unexpected pit stop for a tire issue. He was running in 2nd prior to his issue and it dropped him a lap down to 21st.

On lap 93 Chase Elliott was really happy with his car. He said it got better the longer he ran. He was in third at the time.
On lap 95 Denny Hamlin had some engine concerns and said his motor was changing tones. He was running in 8th at the time.

Notable Moment: On lap 121 Brian Scott spun and brought out the caution. The most notable thing about this is that Martin Truex Jr. got back on the lead lap.
Notable Moment: While running in 10th during pit stops under yellow for the Brian Scott caution Matt Kenseth was caught speeding on pit road.
