Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Talladega
Martin Truex Jr. – Martin Truex Jr. had a great car this spring. He finished 4th in Stage #1 and 4th in Stage #2. When the checkered flag waved he finished 35th after getting collected in the “Big One.” Two laps prior to wrecking with 20 laps to go he was running in 9th.
Ryan Blaney – This spring at Talladega with 28 laps to go Ryan Blaney crashed by himself which marked the end of his race (Finished 39th). Around the time of that incident he was running mid-pack. I will note I thought he likely had top ten potential. He finished 9th in Stage #1, and 3rd in Stage #2. If he would’ve avoided problems he likely had a great chance of finishing in the top ten when the checkered flag waved.
Erik Jones – Erik Jones had a very promising race but he was collected in the “Big One” with 20 laps to go. Two laps prior to that he was running in 12th. Additionally it should be noted he finished 10th in Stage #1, and 9th in Stage #2. Based on how he ran I think it’s clear he was a top ten contender.
